I decided I'd ride 60 minutes a day to get used to being in the saddle again. In retrospect, this was too much, too fast. But I survived. I don't miss driving: The pleasure of being behind the wheel was really about movement and travel, and the experience is actually more vivid on a bicycle. Our summers are brutal, but the worst of the hot weather has passed. The next job is getting ready for cold weather. I particularly need rain gear. If you get rained on in the summer, it's actually kind of nice. Less so when hypothermia is on the menu. ;-) The first few days were difficult.
